Artist Statement
Using complementary colour and sweeping line helps to create the moods of nature that interject their beauty in momentary fury in our lives. Capturing the dramatic scenes around me, especially where the elements meet, is a metaphor for life. I have found that working in a combination of acrylic, oil, bees wax and natural resins adds a transparency that is both honest and intimate. Influenced by Homer Watson, I seek to capture the joy and contentment of life amongst the storms of love and loss.
